Stainless steel plate flanges are commonly manufactured from 304, 304L, 316, and 316L grades. The grades consist of 18–20% chromium and 8–12% nickel with 2–3% molybdenum in 316 grades for improved corrosion resistance. The flanges provide tensile strength of 500–750 MPa and yield strength of 200–300 MPa, with excellent elongation and weldability. The flanges have high resistance to oxidation, acids, and chlorides and hence find use in aggressive industrial conditions. Their flat face configuration is easy to weld and securely leak-free seal.
Stainless steel plate flanges offer excellent durability as well as resistance against corrosion. These are therefore good for aggressive environments. They could withstand high temperature and pressure but maintain their structure. Thus, they remain reliable over time. They also don’t stain and rust, and hence increase service life. Besides, the surface is smooth to provide a tight seal and easy installation. Stainless steel plate flanges have an attractive look and require very less maintenance; they are a widely preferred option in many industrial and construction industries.
