Available in SS grades 304, 316, and 430. Composed of chromium (16–20%) and nickel (8–12%), varying with grade. Controlled hardness by cold-rolling: half-hard (~220 HV), hard (~300 HV). Coils possess tensile strength 600–800 MPa and yield strength 200–400 MPa with low elongation (10–20%). Provide high surface finish and dimensional stability. Hard coils are shape-retentive; half-hard retain moderate flexibility, heat resistance, and corrosion protection.
