SS 465 is 17–19% chromium, 4–5% nickel, 1–1.5% molybdenum, 0.3–0.7% aluminum and titanium. Heat-treated to 930–1 240 MPa tensile strength with > 860 MPa yield strength, and 10–15% elongation. Good seawater and industrial atmosphere corrosion resistance. Martensitic structure provides high hardness and toughness but is weldable and machinable in most tempers.
