SS 446 pipes have 22–27% chromium and negligible nickel. They provide tensile strength of ~450–600 MPa and yield strength of 200–250 MPa and excellent creep resistance at temperatures up to 800 °C. Ferritic structure provides dimensional stability, resistance to oxidation, and scaling resistance. Pipes do not warp or degrade during thermal cycling and retain high internal smoothness.
