Stainless Steel 348H Pipe Fittings are fabricated using a high-carbon, niobium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel alloy with about 18–20% chromium, 8–10% nickel, and greater carbon content to enhance their high-temperature performance. These fittings have outstanding resistance against scaling, oxidation, and carburization and are thus best suited for extended exposure in severe thermal conditions. Having high tensile strength, weldability, and better resistance against intergranular corrosion, they are commonly used in industrial furnaces, reactors, and heat-sensitive systems. Stabilization with niobium reduces precipitation of carbides, giving them structural strength even upon repeated exposure to heat.
