Stainless Steel 317 is an austenitic chromium-nickel alloy that includes 3–4% molybdenum and a higher nickel content (11–15%) compared to 316, providing it with outstanding resistance to corrosion and pitting. It features 18–20% chromium, which boosts its strength and oxidation resistance. The tensile strength of SS 317 pipe fittings is around 515 MPa, while the yield strength is approximately 205 MPa, showcasing excellent elongation and toughness even at high temperatures.
