Compared to regular 304, stainless steel 304H bars have a higher carbon content (0.04–0.10%), 18–20% chromium, and 8–10.5% nickel, which increases strength at higher temperatures. The bars have a yield strength of about 275 MPa, a tensile strength of about 600 MPa, and an elongation of about 40%. At temperatures higher than 500°C, this alloy maintains exceptional mechanical integrity and resistance to oxidation. 304H bars are appropriate for components subjected to extended heat stress because of their high creep resistance, good weldability, and formability.
