Stainless Steel 304/304L sheet and plates are produced in Dubai and India for multipurpose usage in construction, industrial fabrication, and sanitary applications. SS 304 is the common “18/8“ stainless grade that is particularly resistant to corrosion and strong, and 304L provides a lower carbon option for better weldability. These plates and sheets are produced in accordance with ASTM A240 specifications and may be found with numerous finishes such as 2B, No.4, and mirror polish. They are appropriate for tanks, vessels, equipment for kitchens, machinery parts, and architectural panels, providing a combination of workability, durability, and aesthetic appeal.
SS 304/304L contains 18–20% chromium, 8–12% nickel, and has ≤0.08% carbon in 304 and ≤0.03% carbon in 304L. They possess tensile strength of 485–620 MPa, yield strength of approximately 170–210 MPa, and elongation of 35%. SS 304L minimizes the potential for intergranular corrosion following welding, whereas both grades have good resistance to oxidizing conditions. These sheets and plates have perfect formability and surface integrity and are capable of withstanding extensive temperatures and chemical exposures.
