Stainless Steel 316 bars are produced in Dubai and India to satisfy the needs of industries demanding high corrosion resistance, strength, and versatility. These bars, produced in round, square, hex, and flat form, are manufactured under ASTM A276 standards and are used extensively in marine, chemical, and food-grade industries. SS 316 is enriched with molybdenum, which improves its pitting resistance to chlorides and acidic conditions. Its durability, machinability, and strength make it appropriate for precision components, structural assemblies, shafts, and supports. 316 stainless bars are best suited to applications that include exposure to seawater, corrosive chemicals, or moisture.
SS 316 contains 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, 2–3% molybdenum, and ≤0.08% carbon. The inclusion of molybdenum enhances resistance to corrosion, especially from chlorides and acids. The bars provide tensile strength of 515–620 MPa, yield strength close to 205 MPa, and elongation of about 30%. SS 316 bars have good weldability, formability, and toughness even at sub-zero temperatures. Their non-magnetic nature in the annealed condition makes them ideal for sensitive or specialized applications.
