EP elbows are made from SS 316L with ≤0.03% carbon, 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum. The low carbon content improves weldability and corrosion resistance. Mechanical properties include tensile strength of about 485–620 MPa, yield strength of around 170–310 MPa, and elongation above 40%. The electropolishing process lowers surface roughness to Ra ≤ 0.4 μm, reducing microbial adhesion. These elbows are fully annealed and passivated, providing strength, hygienic quality, and visual appeal, all crucial in ultra-pure fluid systems.
