XM19 stud bolts consist of 20–23% Cr, 11–13% Ni, 4–6% Mn, and strengthened with Mo and N. They have a tensile strength of 690–900 MPa and yield strength up to 620 MPa. With high elongation and work-hardening rate, they resist vibration, fatigue, and corrosion. They are non-magnetic in nature, possess excellent pitting resistance, and can be used for sub-zero as well as high-temperature conditions.
