The ER316/316L filler wire consists of 18–20% chromium, 11–14% nickel, 2–3% molybdenum, and ≤0.03% carbon for the “L” variant. It has excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. Its mechanical properties include tensile strength of ≥75 ksi, yield strength of ≥55 ksi, and elongation of ≥30%. The low carbon content reduces the risk of intergranular corrosion after welding. This filler wire supports high-strength, ductile welds with great thermal and corrosion stability.
