Stainless Steel 347 is an austenitic alloy that’s stabilized with niobium and tantalum, featuring about 17–19% chromium, 9–13% nickel, up to 0.08% carbon, around 2% manganese, and trace amounts of silicon. The presence of niobium helps prevent carbide precipitation during welding and high-temperature applications, boosting resistance to intergranular corrosion. In terms of mechanical properties, 347 stainless steel pipes boast a tensile strength of approximately 515–620 MPa, yield strength around 205–275 MPa, elongation near 40%, and a Rockwell B hardness of about 75–85. This combination of strength, ductility, and thermal stability ensures reliable performance even under stress and high-heat conditions.
