Stainless Steel 305 is an austenitic alloy of 18–20% chromium, 8–10% nickel, and traces of manganese, silicon, and low carbon. The mix delivers good corrosion resistance and excellent formability. Its low carbon content ensures against carbide precipitation during welding. The alloy provides a tensile strength of 515–700 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of 40%. It is non-magnetic in the annealed state and has good deep drawing and forming processes. Stainless Steel 305 also resists pitting, oxidation, and deformation against corrosive and chemically aggressive environments.

The 305 stainless steel in hot rolled sheets is corrosion-resistant, strong, and versatile. These sheets are usually available in various thicknesses between 1.5mm and 25mm and up to 2000mm in width. Ideally, they find applications in heavy-duty sectors and structural elements.
